LOMO (BACK)FLASH

The thing with analog photography is that you start a roll, and maybe not finish it, take it on a trip, develop the roll with big expectations and then suddenly realize, the pictures you didn’t wait for, since you forgot you took them, are even better. Here is a compilation of shots taken on October 18th 2008 at Planetarium Wien at the ,aber records label night featuring Luke Vibert and a vibrant crowd of dancers. Good Times.

NEW LOMO DELHI

While I was meeting with people about possible new jobs in New Delhi last Saturday, Andreas took my brand new Lomo LC-A+ and captured amazing and quite genuine images from New and Old Delhi. To see more pictures, visit his Flickr Page.

IT IS DONE

We successfully helped Audi India to launch the Audi R8. The event took place at the German Embassy in New Delhi and was devided into two steps. Around noon there was a press conference and at night a VIP dinner party. My company did all the animation work for the event visuals, including 3 product featurettes and a set of animated loops for different purposes like speaker-charts, artist-visuals and so on. More details will follow once we officially put up the project on our company website. For now I leave you with these two shots.

NO VACATION, JUST WORK (SO FAR)

To eliminate all rumors, no, I’m not  in New Delhi on vacation. I actually do work. Together with my friend and co-worker Andreas we take care of all the graphic elements - static and in motion - of the Audi R8 Launch in India. So unfortunately the sightseeing is kept short. For Andreas it was a trip to the video-service-partner of this event on tuesday and for me a trip to the printer today, where we got to see the real New Delhi - which was fascinating and shocking at the same time. Unfortunately we got rushed into those trips so we didn’t think of taking a camera with us. But the pictures will stay in my memory for quite a while. For all you folks out there, I now have pics of the location, just to tease you enough before I’m allowed to show the entire scenery.

TAKE A DEEP BREATH

… and welcome to New Delhi. The sun is shining on this beautiful Tuesday morning. Traffic is not too bad yet but you still could be woken up by some TukTuk honks if you planned to spend the night on the roof of your Hotel. Enjoy your climate controlled hotel lobby and enjoy the day.

SOME SPARE TIME IN MILAN

During a 4-day long on-location job in Milan I was able to sneak out of the venue for a couple of hours to explore the city with some co-workers and friends.

This is quite a typical image from Milan, where people just park their cars or trucks anywhere, for example in the middle of a crossing. This guy though caught some attention at least.

VOLKSARBEITERFEST 2008

Through our newly made contact at Strukt we were invited to the Volksarbeiterfest 2008 at the Ottakringer Brewery. It’s a party for all the backstage- and behind-the-scene-people of events organized by Büro Hirzberger so that they can have a party while others do their job for once. There were two bands playing and the drinks were super cheap and there was a Tombola and and and … Good Times! Thanks Hannes!

PETER B-DAY PARTY

It’s certainly one of the good fridays in the year when your friends call you up, say “sorry it’s a very short notice, but we are having a party” and it turns out to be not just “a” party. What can I say, if a skateboard is involved, it has to be fun. Cheers to b-day-special-person Peter and thanks to Wagi, Steff & co to make it happen.

(TIME) TRAVEL

When traveling for your job you spend time in hotels quite often. You see the fancy ones, and you see the not so fancy once. And even though I managed to spend a night at a 5-star hotel in Wolfsburg a couple of weeks ago, it was this little 2-star Hotel in Stuttgart that motivated me to take out the camera and take a couple of pictures. Shiny poshy hotels do look all the same, but this quite standard  hotel had an appearane that is just much more worth remembering. It was old, but still so well kept together. It was vintage, but not on purpose. Well, enough words, see for yourself:

DONAUINSEL FEST 08

Wow, I really got lazy running this blog. Well, partly it is because work has keeping me quite busy and on top of that not too much blog-worthy stuff happened. Anyways, I’m trying to pick up the pace again and there are a few things coming up and are already in my blogging pipeline.

I want to start off the catch-up-episodes with some pictures from the Donauinselfest (Danube-Island Festival) that takes place every year in Vienna. It means 3 days of free concerts of all kinds of music. It’s usually jam-packed with people and it always is a miracle that nothing major happens there, seeing how much booze goes down the hatches. Nevertheless, it’s always fun if you are there with the right crowd of people, and it’s mostly just the start into a good night, since it’s over at around midnight.

So my buddy Stefan and I went to see some bands play at the FM4-Stage and later on hit the city to first hang out at the Roxy and ended up at the Tanzcafe Jenseits. Good Times.
